A Legacy of Impact
One person with conviction can change countless lives. Billy Graham said, “A coach has the opportunity to influence more people’s lives than most others do in a lifetime.”
Coach Tom Landry is just one person with conviction; one coach that has left a Godly impact on coaches, players, and communities. His association with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has spanned decades.
In North and Northwest Alabama, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (NWAL FCA) is blessed with Coaches that are touching countless lives, and impacting athletes with the power of Jesus Christ on a daily basis by being Godly role models for their players.
They share their faith which strengthens and encourages young men and women to be the best they can be, both on and off the playing field.
God is moving on the 42 school campuses in our nine counties - Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Marion, Lamar, Limestone, Lawrence, Morgan, Winston - with record participation and commitments to Jesus in our Coaches, Camps, Campus and Community Ministries. In the past year FCA had 605 events with over 26,000 lives being touched with the life changing message of Jesus resulting in 72 people accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
"FCA has been so good to the coaches and athletes; they serve us well.” -- COACH CODY GROSS, Head Football Coach, Athens High School..
“FCA was once called ‘the best kept secret in America.’ I think people are beginning to recognize the great value FCA has. But I think now we have reached a point where it is much more visible. People are beginning to recognize the great value FCA has in presenting a different lifestyle on the campuses of our high schools and junior highs. We need role models, and I believe an athlete is the best role model in the country. As long as that’s true, I think we (FCA) can have an impact.” -- COACH TOM LANDRY
“Having the Spirit of Christ fill our student athletes and being changed for God’s calling causes (FCA) to be the pinnacle of student organizations.” -- DERRICK CHATMAN, Former UNA Football Player & Leadership Board Member
“FCA gave me a group of young people to hang with that did the right thing!! Young people need relationships, they are looking to identify themselves!! FCA is a fellowship of young people who love what they do and love God!! Reaching out to others to help guide them to the Light!! The Light that gives you Faith, Hope and Love - Jesus!” -- COACH JOHN SMITH, Florence HS Softball Coach, Former Russellville HS Huddle Coach & 4-time State Softball Championship Coach
“I have served on the board of FCA for more than a decade. FCA represents everything that our student athletes of today need in order to develop into great community leaders of tomorrow. Investing into the hearts and souls of these young people is a blessing and a privilege. The harvest that FCA reaps from the seeds that are sown is truly extraordinary. FCA really knows how to get a great return on investment!" -- MR. TODD OUELLETTE, Owner/President Long-Lewis Auto Group, Inc. & NWAL FCA Leadership Board Member
